# Water Pressure Formula

Water pressure is a term that describes the water flow strength through a channel or pipe. Water Pressure formula is given by,
Where,
P is the water pressure,
$\rho$ is the density of water,
g is gravitational force,
h is the height
Water pressure loss due to height h is
Where, h is the height

## Water Pressure Examples

Lets see some examples on water pressure:

### Solved Examples

Question 1: The tank of height 3 m is filled with the water. what will be the pressure on the tank at its bottom.
Solution:

Given: Density of water $\rho$ = 1000 kg/m3, acceleration due to gravity g = 9.8 m/s2, height h = 3m

The water pressure on the tank is
P = $\rho$ g h
= 1000 kg/m3 $\times$ 9.8 m/s2 $\times$ 3m
= 29400 Pascal.

Question 2: A falls has the height of 100 m. Calculate the pressure loss when it reaches the surface.
Solution:

Given: Density of water $\rho$ = 1000 kg/m3, acceleration due to gravity g = 9.8 m/s2, height h = 100 m

The pressure loss is given by
Pressure loss = 0.4335 $\times$ 100 m
= 43.35 Pascal.
